Hey guys and gals, I just joined up here. I've seen this site come up a couple of times with answers to other questions I have that I search through google. Figured I'd try it out and see what can come of it.

I have a 2002 Honda 919, 18xxxKM, I am wondering how much engine oil it takes (on average, I know the level should be between the lines on the sight glass) with an oil and filter change. Also how much oil does the gear box take when changing the oil in it?

Engine and gearbox share the same oil. If you get the longer oil filter you can get just about 1 gallon of oil in. With the standard size filter you can get something like 3.7 liters off the top of my head. Don't quote me on that.

Welcome by the way. Be sure to check out the 919 helpful topics. There's a drop box with a link to the shop manual. Be sure to download it for your personal use.

Thanks Pvster! I will check out the helpful topics and download the manual, I was trying to find one online, I guess this just makes it easier haha.

I have a standard size Hi-flo filter HF204. I did the oil change today and it took just under the 4L jug of oil I had to get the oil level withing the lines on the sight glass.
