Anyone here mount and balance their own tires? I was thinking of buying a tire balancer and iron to do it myself. Seems cost effective, is it realistic? Any input appreciated. thanks
I did it with some McGuyver methods. Only if you have the proper tools would I suggest it. Getting the tire on and off without making marks on the rim was my challege.blackbetty said:Anyone here mount and balance their own tires? Dennis Kirk sells the Motion Pro rim protector. They come two to a package, buy 2 packages. Sometimes you might need 3 tire irons to do the job. Speaking of which, if you go the tire iron route get the long ones. You will need the extra leverage.blackbetty said:Hey Mike,
thanks alot, that was exactly what I needed. I am definitely doing it myself. My buddy and I are going to split the equipment. BTW, where can I get those nylon rim protectors?
You're very welcome...blackbetty said:Once again, thank you! There is nothing like experience. Btw, any idea when Marcus Dairy is meeting this year?
