Right now I'm listening to the album London Calling by The Clash.
I grew up with The Clash basically and haven't listened to this album for a long time as I didn't have it on CD/DVD but I've got it now on my iPod (as of last night)!
Listening to this brings back so many memories and it's one of those albums that when you listen to it, it puts you in a good mood!
I listen to a wide variety of music but there is certain groups that will always have a special place in my heart and it's definitely The Clash among other bands!

So what bands hold special places in everyone else's heart?

Motley Crue did wonders for my social calendar in the 80's.
Van Halen was right there with me since I could appreciate music.
and other than that I listen to a lot of classical.

I usually like to mellow out with Comfortably numb long remix or Phil Collins...

Sporty... I LOVE the clash... matter of fact if you have that album digital, I wouldnt mind getting a copy... Since I LOST my origial!

Was also a huge Van Halen fan... was lucky enough to sit front row at two of their concerts... man the chicks flashing was incredible.

I listen to just about anything though... no country or rap!

I have always wanted to see U2 perform... might never happen!

My brother and I saw the Zoo TV tour in '92 and then this current one Vertigo in October. It's worth whatever has to be done to see them in my opinion. Long drive, expensive tickets... worth it.

U2 & Live bring out the special memories for me.

Shut it, I ain't that old!
I had a older sister that listened to The Clash so I just ended up listening to her music.

Lately I've been listening to:
Skinny Puppy (they actually released something not too long ago)
Disturbed
Drowning Pool

But I still can't stop listening to R&B and reggae every so often.

midwest, you have a FTP site?

Sporty, easiest way for you and him would be to upload it to RapidShare or Filefront and give him the link so he can download it on his own accord.

Screw you guys...I thought this thread was about THE Sound of Music. Which I love as a movie, a musical and a way of life.

Banging hot Nuns will never get old in my book.

Find "The Essetial Clash" Cd. And if you grew up way back then try finding a movie called "Straigh to Hell". It's by Alex Cox, has Joe Strummer, the Pogues as Mexican Banditos, Elvis Costello as a butler and while it makes no sense it's got a great soundtrack.

Never heard of it but I'll definitely look it up cause I'm also a fan of the Pogues as well. Did follow Joe Strummer for a little bit when he created Big Audio Dynamite, but nothing compared to the Clash. It's a shame Joe Strummer passed away.

Well at least we won't have to endure a reunion tour. I went to see Social Distortion and all I could think was "boy is he ever fat", went to see Peter Gabriel and my first though was "who's that old bald guy?"

Evad is scaring me! You forgot to include "The Flock of Seagulls" and "Irene Cara". Hey, not that there is anything wrong with that?

Lately, I've been doing Mr. Vegas, Ladysaw, Buju Banton, Sanchez, Chaka Demus, etc. Also, some old school rap/hip hop, Shinehead, Special Ed, Jagged Edge, etc. Can't forget Garbage and Sublime.

God, other than the classic rock mentioned (which was NOT classic btw when I was growing up!!!!) I have no clue WTF you guys/girl are talking about with some of those newer bands. Altho I just recently watched a very cool MotoGP compilation with one of these modern day rock groups....Nickelback - Animal playing......very cool song!

My favs:
Genesis
Phil Colins
Journey
Van Halen
Cheap Trick
Pink Floyd
Kansas
Boston
AC/DC
A lil bit of Ozzie
Rush
Def Lepard
Bon Jovi
Springsteen

Now?
Trust ME I never thought Id ever get into this genre of music.......I mean NEVER!
To the point I've mocked a few of my friends and in-laws over the yrs......
Can you guess it??? lol Yes I like country now!!!! Eeeeeeeeeek! :D
But none of the old country crap. What got me hooked was Shania and Faith.......then a few yrs ago I had a chance to see Faith Hill in concert and who was she with? Her hubby Tim McGraw, well, lemme tell ya if you guys think Faith is big you had to hear the fans bring the place down when Tim (who?) came out. I couldnt believe this hick was as big a star as he was..... kinda felt bad for Faith after that intro! :D Anyhow his music is GREAT......those of you who dont like country....dont be so close minded give him a try! You'll be surprised how many decent songs he has along with many other contemporary country entertainers....ie. Big&Rich, Kenny Chesney, K. Urban, Rascal Flatts, etc....

My music depends on my mood, but being a DJ on the side I wind up listening to just about everything. I try to know all the top songs from each type. Plus I play what si requested at weddings and such.

My MP3 has mostly rock/rap/R&B that I listen to at the gym.

Hey, lighten up, willya?

My interests are similar to XFBO's, with a slant towards 70's progressive......most of this music was way before my time, so during my adolescence (the glam-rock era) the other kids thought I was weird....most of 'em still do.....

Anyway, I have all the Genesis, Rush, ELP and Jethro you can shake a stick at. And I'm a big-time "Yes head"....saw them at the Borgatta last Summer and they rocked.........I got their whole library and then-some....

Like you Sporty, my siblings affected me......My sisiter used to howl every time "The Police" came on.....she wanted Sting bad.....gotta admit, I got their whole catalog too.......and some of Stings solo stuff for more "Easy" listening....he always has a very clean sound.....

" First to pull over when the atmosphere is less than perfect....your sensiblities are shaken by the slightest defect....you get so busy even walkin' in a straight line....you live your life like a canary in a coal-mine"

The Police

Good stuff:)
