I want to plant some yard foliage, something that will grow enormous, huge, completely overtake a section of my yard so I don't have to see my neighbors anymore. I'll let it grow wild but want something tall and dense that needs no attention and grows fast in a tropical environment. Suggestions?

Here in the transition zone (Mid-Atlantic) arborvitae is commonly used.

Privet is another, but occasionally can stand a renewal pruning (down to a foot or 2, but recovers very quickly)...but it gets tall and is probably cheap

Holly is the best visual/noise/wind barrier going. $$$ for big'uns

I have no idea how any of these plants would fare in your climate.

Sorry.

If you poke around the net I'm sure you could find some more stuff, perhaps better acclimated to Fla........
