I just pull the wheel and hugger when I need to get at the shock. Only takes a few minutes extra and gives you so much more room to work with.

You're looking for a piece of 16mm rod or possibly steel pipe or even a decent-sized construction bolt - where would you usually begin to look for something like that? A machine shop? Plumbing supplies? A hardware store? Maybe the place you source the box section will have something you could use...

Looks great, I like that it's wider than the phobman stand, that's my only complaint with it- it can be a little unstable if you're really racking the bike.
