test marketing a new phrase to add to my vernacular:

Nascar is like watching skittles being flushed down a toilet.

OH MAN! That is priceless. First her write up of the accident. This time around, she left out a lot of incriminating details like how fast Shaun might have been going and such. And still.... that darn visor and it's aerodynamic drag that pulled her off the bike.

And how in the heck do you as the passenger hold on to the gas tank? What do you hold on to? WTH ?!?!

Anyway.... nuff said...

I can't understand how the visor could get pulled open either, and then drag her off the bike... and if it did, I'm sure they weren't going anywhere near the speed limit! But as far as putting her hands on the gas tank - I have some riding books that recommend doing just that. The passenger puts their hands around the pilot and instead of giving him a bearhug, they place their hands on the back of the gas tank so when the brakes are applied the passenger can basically hold themself still and not go flying forward.

Sounds like the book was written by someone with a different agenda...."I'm sorry lady, but if you ride with me, you cannot hold onto me like that...please place yours hands at the base of the fuel tank and disregard the fact that my crotch happens to be there."

I have had my visor come open once on me. I was going over the speed limit and took a peek behind me to make sure I was clear to change lanes. That is when it slammed open on me. It didn't jerk me at all. I faced forward again and put it back down. I have a tab on my visor to open it. My guess is the wind caught that tiny little tab. As a passenger though, what was she doing that made the visor come up? Looking for a UFO or somthing:alien:

Lets not even rehash this mess... we've been through it all already!

I however can vouch for the hands on the tank method. What my Mrs. did when we rode 2 up was put her hands on the base of the tank and clasp them together. While on the gas, even hard, she could squeeze her arms together and keep her hands clasped... no going off the back...

Then while breaking... hands on the tank and help support some of her own weight.

Now understand I am not a squid, nor did I ever attempt a 2 up wheelie doing triple digits with her... so I can not comment on how well that method would work under those circumstances. :stir:
