I've become quite proficient at changing shields on my Arai SZ Ram 3 open face helmet. This one requires you pop off the shield, then remove the sidecups and install them on the other shield before installing the other shield.

Hang on, I'll time myself... 1:48

Still nowhere near the 11 seconds it takes to change the OGK shield.

Arai should have a competition.

I can change the shield on my Shoei X-series without taking the helmet off, takes about 15 seconds.

I thought taking the side covers off was a thing of the 90's.

Place the helmet on a table in fornt of you.

turn the helmet so the back is facing you.
Lift sheild till tabs pop out.
Lift tabs so the side pod pops out a litlle. Place both hands on each corner of lower sheild.Lift up and out...

I can do it in about 10-12 seconds...

i saw Bruce from arai change a sheild while the helmet was on his head.,

Watch the Arai riders at the IOM when they pit. They all swap visors with the lid still on.
I used to be able to do that with my RX7-RR4... NO, I am NOT kidding you mongrels :D

I can no longer do that when they changed to the new system which, alledgedly, it was supposed to be even quicker to take out... can't say why, age maybe?

I've got a new Arai RX7 as well and its kinda hard to get the shield on/off...quickly anyways.
Follow Vizsladog's advice. I've got a RX7 and that procedure works great. It's harder with the helmet facing you.

You guys are lucky, I can't wear a shoei helmet if my life depended on it... small is to small and the medium is loose, go figure!

No quick change on this model. I picked it up last week. Ordered when I bought the 125, but this helmet is intended for the dual-purpose/ADV riders. It fogs easier, but I have been spoiled by my Scorpion. I think I can adapt a Pro-Shield to curb the fogging. I am very impressed with it so far though.
