does anyone know what part i'd have to get so that the big black side covers go on? i got an '02 919(1st bike) and it came with no side covers so i got them just to realize the parts where they bolt up are broken. i assume its part of the air cleaner assembly but not sure. thanks

The side covers touch down in 3 places , 1 on each corner. The corner up under the tank just sits; the corner up under the seat has a tag that inserts into a rubber grommet on the frame, and the main retaining device is a bolt into a mounting point on the air box. See pics.

ah ok. thanks alot. i have alot to kinda fixup cosmetically on this, but it runs perfect. i was able to find another air filter housing cheap on ebay so i got that sorted. i noticed u have the yss shock on yours as well and i put one on mine too, old one was clapped out. just wanted to ask if i need to play with settings to get it to soften up? im 200 Lb and idk, seems overly stiff. i got some f4i forks for the front too but i need to swap the seals :)

What spring does it have on it? I started with a 150 but recently changed to a 180, as i was using all the travel solo with no luggage. (I'm about 185lb with no riding gear.)

If the shock isn't oversprung but isn't feeling very compliant, you might need to reduce the rebound on it to get it to move better. What is it like at a standstill? Can you bounce it?

MZ456-285TR-02-85 and it has whatever spring rate is stock, their website doesnt say. i can bounce it, but i think it definitely needs less rebound, i'll try it out.thanks again

Yeah, mine came with a 150 - I think that's how they deliver them. You might be able to read it on the spring if the shock happens to be in the right position. Anyway, the 150 is definitely not too much spring for your body weight.

Good luck!
