2007 Hornet 919

Few years without a bike after trading mine for a car, survived a busa as my first bike at 16 lol. Anyways just got back into it with a 2007 honda hornet 919 as I was looking for something that did a little bit of everything. I have read a ton of stuff on this forum and it seems like the majority of stuff is for the 919, is it just because that’s the stuff that I’ve read before and it’s recommended to me or is the majority of this site about Hornet 919s? Also looking for recommendations on handlebars as I am a bit on the taller side and possible fixes that have worked for the smell the hornet leaves on you lol. Thanks!

here’s a picture after changing the turn signals, mirrors, and pretty good touch up. Got it for 3,700 with 11k miles, thought that was a fairly decent price.

That Hornet smell... The guy I bought mine from told me it was the smell of freedom, in a Braveheart sort of tone.

But what helped mine was converting the thermostat - Hotter Thermostat Install + Questions | Sportbike Forums on WristTwisters . Now the bike actually gets warm enough to get into the normal temp range. I also have a PC (3?) but it didn't help smell. Helped low speed Throttle response a bit. My bike is stock other than those 2 changes. I have thought about small pipe extensions - mods as well for Stink. Some have reported good results.

My '04 green maybe showing up on the classifieds this year - just not riding enough.

Great score on your ride - welcome to the site - the experts here have been a class act and willing to help. Which reminds me to start a new thread for poor off idle performance..... Hope the bike works great for you!
Great!
Will take care of it soon and post a Dropbox Update accordingly.
Is there a forum drop box? Where would I find that if so?
Thanks for taking care of that.

Where do I find this in the drop box? Not seeing the tune in there from AEG. Thanks!

This thread had me re-read a bit of the exhaust stink thread's especially after my 919 developed a stumble at low RPM. I have since ordered a new fuel pressure regulator. I will let you know when installed if any impact. If your bike is a stinker and has any low rpm stutter. you may want to pull the vacuum side of FRP and check for fuel. I am hoping this (and my PC3 already installed with some positive results but not the linear throttle that others had come away with) gives me back some confidence for low speed operation and throttle smoothness.

Loaded the map today was Waiting on a new front tire installation. She fires up from cold start real well, Will she how she runs AM. Thanks!

Seems a liitle to lean for my elevation runs and starts good I little loppy on idle upper rev's seems ok.
That's a shame. Just about all my riding is at sea-level and it's great for me, and the local gas.

Have you checked your starter valve sync recently? That can make a huge difference to how the evenly the motor idles.
Not yet only 18.6k 1st valve check was good. Im at 2600MSL- rode 100 miles today to burn off and FI cleaner that remained, Not a screamer like the RSR map But yes Solid.

Installed a pc6 and checked the vacuum side, no leaks, FPR is good. Still has the stink to it. May consider a low mount exhaust from a CB900RR.

What map are you running?

Stock map off of dyno jets website. If there are any other maps that are better then that one I’d be open to it for everything being stock. Probably going to do a single low mount exhaust here shortly and might do a custom build for duel low mount exhausts over the winter.

My bike ran a little rich and smelled it until I put the PC-V on. Now no stink whatsoever. Sorry it didn't work for you

It’s definitely interesting it works for some and not for others. I think it may depend a lot on the size of the rider due to how the negative pressure behind you works to stick the exhaust gas to your back.

i will try to find the stock map i have from LDH. it worked well for low throttle stumble till this year, but didnt help at all for stink. new Thermostat helped, as i posted earlier. hoping FPR will be the ticket, especially with low throttle issues creeping back in.
