2007 Hornet 919

Few years without a bike after trading mine for a car, survived a busa as my first bike at 16 lol. Anyways just got back into it with a 2007 honda hornet 919 as I was looking for something that did a little bit of everything. I have read a ton of stuff on this forum and it seems like the majority of stuff is for the 919, is it just because that’s the stuff that I’ve read before and it’s recommended to me or is the majority of this site about Hornet 919s? Also looking for recommendations on handlebars as I am a bit on the taller side and possible fixes that have worked for the smell the hornet leaves on you lol. Thanks!

here’s a picture after changing the turn signals, mirrors, and pretty good touch up. Got it for 3,700 with 11k miles, thought that was a fairly decent price.

Yeah, it's turned into a kind of 919/specialty site.

Try some simple handlebar risers to see if they help.

The stink is best fixed by a lo-mount exhaust swap - not really sure if anyone has managed to tune it out any other way.
The exhaust stink on my 919 was greatly reduced by installation of a PC-V. The 919 runs surprisingly rich. The stock map on the PC-V leans it out.

Nice clean example.
Swap out those 16 year-old rubber brake lines for some braided

Sweet, thank you. Have you known anyone to try the auto tuner o2 sensor with these?

I've read that it works well, but don't know personally know anyone who welded a bung for the O2 sensor on their header.

How well does the pc5 or pc6 work as far as drivability? Is it a noticeable difference?
That was a great thread! Wonder what he's up to these days? Sharp cat.

The ADV-lite guy was kind enough to share a map with me that he had developed over time with his PCV and Autotune setup. In terms of drivability, it absolutely transformed my bike ['03, lo-mount exhaust, PCIII] from gear shifts to overall throttle response, better gas mileage, the whole 9 yards. Transformation. A real lesson in quality mapping.

Are you open to sending me the map so I can put it in the Dropbox?

I don't feel it's my property to share but am happy to send an inquiry to AEG2SLOW to see how he feels about it.

AEG is good with it, so we can get it in the Dropbox.
