Where does everyone get their tires from? The shop (which I will vouch for as they treat me well) said a front for my 919 will range from $160-180 and a rear will be $200-220, plus $90 installation. I'm OK with the installation piece of it because working 40-50 hrs a week the last thing I want...

I went for a 358 mile dual sport / twisty run on Sunday and came home to this: So needless to say I've been doing some tire shopping. www.sportbiketrackgear.com seems to have the best prices I found out of the 5 sites I checked. (Bike Bandit, Comp Acc, Manchester Honda, MC Superstore, SW...

I hate to give money to a shop for tasks I can do myself. And, having grown up at a car shop, and being active in motorsports and other forms of moto-self-flagellation, I've been around the block a bunch of times. BUT, I have never changed a tire bigger than a Honda XR80 tire. Skipping the...

I bought my bike with mismatched tires. Conti Motion rear, Shinko (I think) front. I've always been a supporter of Continental motorcycle tires and will be buying them again. Now that I'm getting serious about the 900RR/F# wheel swap, I'm going to order new tires this weekend for those wheels...

I know that tire questions for the 919 have been covered many times before but I need advice from you guys. I have an '03 919 that I commute about 90k/day on. Mostly in dry conditions with the occasional rain day. I like to bend her down in the corners but I am not a super aggressive rider...

So I'm getting near that time when I have to start thinking about replacing my tires. I'm down almost to the wear bar on my Michelin Pilots on the rear. The front is in better shape. As far as I've read what I have on there now (came with the motorcycle when I bought it) is a very good, very...

So apparently when the shop put my rear wheel back on they tightened my chain to much. I haven't measured it yet, but I can tell by looking at it when I push up on it it's barely an inch of slack. When I spin the wheel in neutral I get some chatter from the front sprocket, I cleaned and...

Just thought I would share my guttural weekend scream moment with the masses... About a month and a half ago my wife decides to use the wheelbarrow to do some clean up around the property. Well the imensely attentive thing that she is she proceeds to use it with a flat tire (I thought it felt...

I bought a new to me FJR last week end and haven't posted yet because it is just that much fun to ride. My classified has been neglected to and I need the 919 to sell soon. When I bought it I knew it needed new tires I was told this by the owner. and could see it in the pics he sent me. They...

So I am new to Wrist Twisters, and I figured I'd try out my first question thread. I recently just purchased a 2004 919 and the current wheels on it are in not so good shape. What tires should I get next, I am looking for an all around good tire, that will last a while, but something that is...

Motosport.com or Sporttour.com? I need to buy a complete set for one bike and a rear tire for another and they have the best prices I've found. Just wondered if they're usually pretty fresh or have been sitting in their warehouse for awhile. I've bought my last tires from a local shop, but...

So I'm about to start my 25 mile commute home (in traffic) and its 110 degrees outside. This is the third day in a row that temps have been hovering around 110, and I've lost track of how many days we've been at 100+. Should I be concerned about my tire wear under these hellish conditions...

CONTINENTAL MOTION TIRE COMBO | MotoSport Most guys like them. My Michelin Power Pilot front tire is wearing really uneven. I'm a little disappointed in my Michelins. Has anybody tried a 170 rear on the 919? It should turn in quicker.

Just got a new set of Pilot Power CT2's on my 919, it had rained earlier so I gave them a mild 20 mile scrub in run on mostly wet pavement during off and on sprinkles. So far they feel great, but I will post an update after I have a few hundred miles on them.

After flip flopping back and forth about which tires to get for my R6, I went with the Q2's (again). Had these on the 600RR. At least I can give a fair comparo between the two bikes. I really wanted longevity, as any real 'good' riding is about an hour away from me, and I was absolutely...

I know the traditional way is to ride in a parking lot and lean a little at a time to get the slick stuff off new tires but here's another way . All you need is some sand (damp or wet) and rub the new wheels really good by hand Then just a garden hose and some Simple Green...

I was wondering if any VFR 1200 owners (there must be some out there:) ) have replaced the origonal tyres and if so which ones they used. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. I amnot the fastest rider so ultra grip is not requied. Reasonable grip and respectable mileage is what I am...
