I bought a wrecked 600 f3 for $400. I already have a front end for it and all I need are headers, 919 rotors, and a radiator. Also have to weld together a cafe tail with a fab'ed up seat. If anyone has some spare parts that would fit and would like to sell please pm me. Thanks everyone!

I'll post up some better pictures later.

I was very close to making a cafe fighter out of the ZX6R, but decided I'd rather have resale value to a broader audience

Progress

Decided on a Copper tank with a hammered copper plate for the tale and a brown leather seat as the targeted design.

It's hasty photoshop editing but that's the jist of it.

Started filling in the dented tank with bondo layer by layer and have the 919 front end mounted. Still have quite a lot to do but having an ideal end is encouraging.

Damn bro are you putting icing on a cake?! That is so much bondo sand.

Cool project, I would like to offer my free of charge internet based opinion in one area though.

Don't spend any money painting that tank if you had to Bondo like that.

If it's going to be a black primer when finished, or sort of rat rod looking you'll be fine, but a good paint job will not be able to conceal a heavy bondo job.
If your paint guy says he can make it look right, he's probably the wrong paint guy for a good paint job.

Man, that looks sweet... Are you using like a copper leaf? I didn't even know you could do that with anything but gold... What kind of coating will you spray on it to protect it?

Way cool. You have some skills.

Tail Update

The tail is going to be Black Walnut with a copper border and black rivets.

Started by glueing these two boards together in a block.

Cut, chiseled, and sculpted them into a shape I wanted

Then back tracked to scratch on a new block of Black Walnut (much heavier wood with a much nicer grain)

Thanks Loops,
Already had a log of Black Walnut in my garage. I would like to find some zebra wood for a future project and apply a different technique (will be cooler than this project for sure!). Will be testing a two part epoxy vs polyurethane to see which one is better for the tail.
