mcromo44 Welcome aboard.

One of my best friends built a fully cafe'd Atlas in 69 or so.
Top half fairing, some Dunstall stuff.

The only thing I kept from my 71 Commando era was the clutch spring compressor tool which sits on a display shelf.

Good luck with the work and have fun with it.

atlas65 That was meant to be " solid brass " .... I am uploading from my silly eye phone . They are great otherwise , but large fingers and small keyboards don't always work too well together .

This is my tank (taken backto bare metal)There is a large dent on the other side that i am hoping to pop out with some air pressure and heat . The badges are supurb ! Got them from the UK , they were hand made replicas cast in dolid brass then tripple plated .

Bigdaa Norton Atlas..........a rare and wonderful bird indeed!

Good on you to save the Mini Trail 70.
Growing up in the 60's and 70's, my brother had one, and borrowing it for jaunts into the local mountain range was the time of my life!!!

I just love me that Atlas! Good luck on the resto and keep pictures and progress reports on it.

Also saved this one from the scrap metal pile . A friend of mine owned it , and it was taken on all our bike runs ( on a trailer ) as a comunity play thing . This bike has jumped raging fire pits , been submerged in 6ft of water , got stuck 10ft high in a tree , caught on fire , crashed too many times to mention , but was destined to be made into scrap metal in the end .
I just couldn't let this happen so i have pulled her to safety to be restored at a later date .
Long live the Honda trail 70 !

Hello all .
Just joined this forum so not too sure what to expect but , my story is i have always had at least one motorcycle as part of my garage stuff . Mainly Yamaha xs 650s , a few 1.1 s and suzuki GS / GSX sidecars and stuff . I am now 38 yrs old and have been chasing my dream bike ( 1965 Norton Atlas ) for about 20 years . I was recently was lucky enough to get myself one . They have come up from time to time , but i have never been in the position to afford one . Anymahooo this one came up at the right price and mostly complete . I got her running and registered and have been blatting around the streets of Mandurah (Western Australia) until last week when i decided to pull it down for a complete restoration .
Just thought i would join this forum to see if there are any other Norton Atlas owners out there to swap ideas , and photos .
If i can work out this iphone app i will upload some pics of my Norton and the restoration as it happens .

Cheers !
