Lead time is a year? I can put the money together easy.

Seriously though, looks like a great concept. I just don't know how many RTW travelers could afford it.

$68,000??

That guy must have fallen off a house and hit his head on a cinder block while stoned on shroom laced methampheta-crack. Not even if I hit the lotto would I pay $68k. I'd kill that one bike before I killed 5 KLR650's at a fraction of the price.

I was thinking more along the lines of group discount and corporate takeover.

Robtharalson could build that bike using scraps & ebay parts for <1500......with adjustable handlebars. Then he could ride it around the world.....and back.....without twisting the throttle. He'd change the laws of physics & sit in neutral while the earth spun underneath him. Yeah, that's the ticket.
(obviously I'm jealous)

For an EX500 engine that can be had for pennies?

Love the bike. Great use for a battle proven motor but 68K is alot like "gimme your deposit soon so I can hide in Mexico for the rest of my life and live like a king."

Why you little Stupid Yamaha can't bring the good to the US. Why, I have a good mind to show them where they can put that beautiful, unattainable piece of engineering.

Nice!

BTW, I went down the trail along Rock Creek Sunday from the opposite side. It was VERY muddy, lots of standing water holes in tire tracks and rutted along the banks. Oh boy, but it was fun!

Next time we go back, I'm taking the helmet cam!

It's like the KLR....old and unrefined. But I'll be darned why they don't sell it here. Yamaha dropped that one years ago, the buttholes.

I was thinking what a great project it would be to shoe horn a Ninja 250 motor into a brand new KLR 250. What a blast that would be. Maybe even the venerable 500 motor swap.

Talked to a buddy of mine that owns a shop and he told me that he is out of bikes that cost less that $6500 ! Not just one model, all of them ! He had a 2009 DR-Z400S come in and it was gone before it was assembled, at full pop !

The locals Kawi dealers are all out of KLR 650 here in the lower half of SC. He told me this morning that I'd half to go to Uly, FL to see one. Which bears the Q, where is Uly FL?
Last year when I bought my 9er, I was also looking at the KLR and they had an assload of them then. Can't find one for nothing now. Matter of fact, the only bikes that are on the showroom floors are the more expensive ones and the cruisers.
