Suzuki DR-z400s

So my dealer has a brand new DR-z400s he could let me have for 5,000 it's a left over. The question is ,and from the reading I've done are these good dual sport bikes? I have been thinking about getting a dual sport and this seems like a good deal.

Grab it and run! Solid motor, good power and easily modified to whatever your riding tastes desire.

Grab it! My neighbor has a 2004 and it's surprisingly a great bike.

The do Ok on the road, but, I dont think I would do much on the interstate, if any at all !
TheDR-Z400s are a good bike but they are so strangled with emissions, its horrible ! If you do get one, plan on doing an exhaust ( Yoshimura makes the most gain for the buck ), adding a jet kit and opening the air box u pa bit - or , find a DR-Z400E carb and its alot better without the exhaust -but, its really much more better with the carb and exhaust.
If you plan on doing alot of traveling on a bike, I mught look @ a KLR, but, if you intend on going deep off road, just put some knobbies on a 400 and enjoy !

No Interstate would be much more off roading with it.Just some back roads to get to the woods.

+1 dude.

I know more than a few DS-heads that either "downsized" or "upsized" to the DR400. It's the perfect DS bike. And unless you plan on really going for the long adventure rides, forget about its Interstate worthiness. It will be very good in the woods, wherther you get all crunk with mods or not......
