proud new owner

I've been wanting a dual sport for some time now and finally pulled the trigger today. I bought an '08 Yamaha wr250r. I was leaning towards something small in the 250cc range since it is my first offroad bike and this one was the best deal from what I looked at. Only about $700-$800 more then the yamaha xt250 and honda crf230l but way more bike for that little extra amount. fully adjustable suspension, fuel injection, much better power. It's a 6 speed and I had it up to 78 in 5th gear on the test ride, not quite topped out even. plenty for what I want.

I am keeping the 919 as well so I can have what I want on and off the road, god bless my wonderful wife but now that I have bought one she is already bugging me about getting one for her, not that that is a bad thing (she won't ride on the street so it will be nice to finally get to ride with her). they had a nice '06 klx 125 that fit her perfect for $1400, thing was hardly ridden. She is a die hard yamaha fan and that's all she ever owned when she raced MX so that was the only thing that she didn't like about it but she knows Kawasaki has come along way since she was racing and she really did like the bike, may have to change out the green plastic for her though.

They should have mine assembled Monday and ready to pick up after work. obviously I cannot wait.

Congrats Matt! Plenty of time to get in some good rides before old man Winter blows into MN.

i'm a lil bit jealous, i would love to have a toy like that and it's super cool that your wife wants one too my lady just bought her first bike, an older night hawk, and has been doing the parking lot practice and all that fun is always fun to add another rider to the family, and another toy!
