Have bike will travel.....

Well, i realized jus ho close VIR is.

I had not ordered my tail bag yet (til five minutes ago).

So, here is where I am going to list everywhere I decide to ride the bike.

Commited rain or shine...
VIR (3.5+ hours)
Road Atlanta (9+ hours)

Considering
Easy E's cook out. Stories from last year make it hard to resist this year.
Week long Blue Ridge Mountain ride with an old High School Friend

The list should get longer as I get healthier and used to saddle time on the beast.

I hear that.
I'm going to Erick's with or without the wife.
2 trackday weekends in October and another in November.

Panniers, liner bags and friction cruise control on the way. I modified an old tankbag to work as a tailbag so I should be able to pack for a couple weeks easily!
Fieldsheer is releasing a new ADV rider jacket for 2007 and my distributor should have them in stock any day now. Wanted to go ballsout and get a Aerostich but this new FS jacket looks really good at a fraction of the price. Hopefully I can have one of those before the long ride north.

Spill the beans on the Fieldsheer. I am gonna need one when the weather starts to turn. One excellent point about living in central N.C. is that the Blue Ridge Mtns are only 2.5 hours away. I plan on multiple excursions deep into the Smokey mtns, BRP, Cherohala, Deals, and whatever else I can cook up along the way. You'll have to hit me up if you come through I-85/40 I may tag along, or we can cook up something for dinner.

Edit: Oh yeah, I just about forgot.

The new jacket is called "Adventure" and resembles a aerostich Darien jacket. It's in my FS catalog for 2007 but not on their website yet. Hang on and I'll try to scan it.

That givi 46 is huge - you can stuff 2 helmets and a dead cat in there! ya know, adventure dinner.

here you go
biggest things I like here is they're up to 1000 denier and added ventilation. The 4 front vents on the new jacket will flow alot more air than my Hyrdo does with only two on the arms and one in the back, this way thee's much more air coming in at the shoulders - big improvement over my Hydro.

the thing about Fieldsheer is if you want something always check with me first because I'll sell just about any of it cheaper than my competitors. However, the caveat is that I don't carry much stock on hand so if the distributor is sold out then so am I.

What I like alot about this one is the liner is actually a second jacket that you can still wear without the outer jacket. Makes it nice when it's too cold to ride without the outer but to warm to stand around in the whole thing. I'm checking daily on this jacket because odds are I'll sell my hydro after getting this one.

am I rambling - stoli & ginger ale man! yeah baby!! heavy on the stoli! I love you guys!!!!

Yep, you can put me on the list for one of those as soon as I sell my Sidi's. How are they sized? My Fieldsheer Revo is a 46, and fits well. BTW, posting while drunk can lead to strange things like selling your jackets at cost and such. Just lookin' out for ya and all.

Nice looking luggage. You didn't like the V46?
http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade...ctview/602/69/

Although I am looking at something smaller for every day use. The V46 will be reserved for longer touring trips. What about that Fieldsheer jacket. Did you already order one?

I like the V46 but when I photoshopped it onto the GS it looked enormous. The tail of the bike is so narrow looking that it didn't look right proportionally. I plan on runing the topcase daily and figure between the panniers and topcase I can hold more than I want to carry anyway.

The jackets aren't at the distributor yet. They say "any day now" so I check daily, skeptically. Will let you know when they start arriving.

I am fearful of the size of the V46 on the Strom. The smallest Givi offers in the monokey range is the E35 Traffic. It is 11 liters less than the 46, but not much less on the $$$$.

My Sidi auction will be ending soon, so hopefully I will be patiently waiting for the jacket as well.

you'll like the Zero. I've been using the HydroTour for over a year now and my only reason to changing to the Adventure (if they ever release it) is ventilation. Hot days are pretty stuffy in the Hydro.
