Hard Cases for the KLR

I've been planning on putting hard bags on my KLR soon after I got it, I realized that I could do a lot of riding with the 600$ or so that it would cost for them. So I have been thinking about a more expedient form of hard cases and I have settled on thses ammo cans . The 20mm cans are about 32 liters each, the ones in the link are not the ones that I have been eyeing at the surplus store. There several mounts in the 75$ range, making the project about 110$ or so with all of the mounting, paint and such. The only problem I think that I might have is the quality of the cheaper mounts, these, I can put a lot of weight in 70 liters of space and mount failure several thousand miles away from home would be no fun. Does anyone have experience with or ideas for mounting for hard bags on a budget?

Yesterday I found a long forgotten Quantaray aluminum case. It's not exactly a Pelican case but since the camera was sold a long time ago and I have no other use for it I'm thinking topcase.

Hi Kevin,
You should consider mounting it to the front motor mount, right behind your front wheel, that will keep the front wheel from getting pushed back into the....ahhh never mind!
