D606s on a '08 KLR650

At highway speeds I can equate it to trying to hang on to the hips of a Professional Hula Champion who is dancing to a changing beat.
You're there. You're hanging on. You're enjoying the view. But you are not in control.

If only you could see how hard I am laughing right now! Perfect visual comparison.

Just keep telling yourself we are not doing highway speeds.

It's kinda like riding a paint shaker down a hill made of jello on the street but damned if they're not confidence inspiring when the dirt gets loose.

I hear that. Haven't had them offroad yet but can't wait to get these things in the dirt and feel them really bite.

Ahhhh! The good ole days when I wasn't in love? Wait, I have now also ... just always with the same person.

So, you really like them at 80mph on the road?

Flying a wooden bi-plane through a thunderstorm. That was the best way I could describe to my dad what its like on the highway. Anyone have experience with the Dunlop 908RR tire? I heard that the tread life on them is great, although they might not be as mud-worthy as D606s, I think I could manage. Another thing is the price, almost twice the price of D606s, which may not be completely offset by the extra mileage I could get out of them. My 606s still have a lot of life left in them so I still have a good while to decide.

I think jetblast got a bad set from Dunlop. These tires rock!

I was zipping right along today just as comfortable as on my Anakees.

Pressures were bumped up though. Running 30/30 right now.

I've had brand new 606's on the KLR for over 2-months now. Have yet to try them out?! Ughhh!

What do you mean by "that's as fast as i'm willing to go on that thing"?
Just how fast do you think that puppy will steam?

I got my KLR set up for minimum wobble at maximum speed, but it took cash. I've ridden through really stiff side and headwinds and have not been worried at all. But like I said, it took cash, and it still wobbles a bit now and then.

Okay, I got tired of just looking at the KLR sitting there all these months untouched and unloved. Yesterday, I got her all healed, verified, and put on her third Supertrapp. Sadly, she sat untendered since last July. Choke on, 1/4 throttle ... putt, putt, putt! Viola!

Took her out for her first ride on the new 606's with pressure set at 32 psi. It is different than the stock tires. Got an added and different vib in the seat. Not anymore annoying ... it just adds more character to the painter shaker.

It is definitely way easier to lock and slide the front and rear over stock. It is stable at 75mph with little drama. Where I truly noticed the difference was when I took it to a little make shift MX track we have at a local Sportsman's Club. I was okay with the stock tires off-road and never complained. The 606's are day and night over stock in the loose stuff!

I know so many of you already saw the light, but WOW! I forgot how much fun this underpowered pig really is! I had a blast. After having taken out the XX for some different kind of stupid stuff the other day. The KLR is the polar opposite of stupid. Almost a lazy stupid. She needs to get a bit more dirty today!

I run KC80-DUAL SPORT TIRES on my CL360 and its surprisingly smooth.
Bit slippery on wet pavement, but I think all dual sport tires slide a bit in those conditions.
