Cogent Dynamics

Need I say more?

Okay, I will. I spent about 1/2 hour talking with Rick. He owns the place. And now he's building me a Moab shock for the KLR. Yes I'm also getting springs and cartridge emulators. Rick asked all the good questions about weight and riding habits, taking into account how the bike is mostly a commuter which will be called on for medium-extreme offroad riding every so often.

He took the time to talk me through the fork modifications and explain why things need to be done just so. He custom builds my shock for me based on the info he asked about and says it'll take about 3 weeks.

Now, the best part...
they're not just a KLR shop. They do work for all kinds of bikes - Rick mentioned Ducati and Suzuki but no doubt he's interested in hearing what your needs might be. So it's worth giving them a look and see what comes from it.

Will give some updates when my parts start arriving.

Looks like a reputable shop, good find. Having a hard time justifying a Ohlins shock although I would love to have one.

Nice! Rick is a great guy. He did the forks for my SV a couple months back. Very thorough and repacked them well. He even offered to set the sag up for me if I brought the bike down.

Can't wait to hear how the shock works out.

It is a great shop, with a wide array of talents.

It's better to have loved and lost than live with the psycho for life!

Build a decent, fair priced 919 shock and they will come.

Just spoke with Cogent. My shock is waiting to be boxed up and shipped out with the springs and emulators. With a great deal of good luck I'll have them in my hands Saturday and can spend Sunday working.
