gs500 street fighter

I am currently building my 1st bike a 93 Suzuki gs500. Im thinking about cutting or modifying the stock exhaust. I've been warned not to because of jetting issues. Anyone have any advice or have done this before? Anything will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Looks like a fun project!
I have not done this before on a street bike, but have re-jetted a couple dirt bikes after modifying the airbox and installing more free-flowing exhausts. The "jetting issues" you were warned about just means that you will have to change your jetting to compensate for your mods. You'll probably be making your bike leaner after cutting off the exhaust.
Is there a GS forum you can look at for some specific jetting recommendations?

Thanks im amusing i'll have to go with bigger jets to compensate for more airflow. Just not sure what size. This is a budget build so I'm trying to do as much of the work as possible. I've also look as "gsforums" with no luck as of yet. I've seen bikes with no exhaust on youtube and can't get a response on jetting ..

Let a pro do your jetting. That bike is looking good. May as well pay a bit and make sure you don't go merrily along and burn the mother fucking shit out of your valves.

Good luck and it's looking good, new guy.

Nope, don't think so.

Can you link to the suspect page?

I don't belong to any other sites except this one any more.

If you see any other Bigdaa, I got to say I've been Bigdaa since 1999.

It's my bike license plate and has been on a 996 Superhawk, then a 929RR, then my ZX10R.

Anyway, didn't mean to be so wordy, but sometimes when my fingers do the walking they kinda stoopud!
