Wind versus motorcycle

Just got back from an 80 mile jaunt fighting a sidewind most of the way on my niner. I wonder if a Big ole' Gold Wing would have more problems or less.
How about you 'strommers sittin up high. Get pushed around much ? Any one else ?

I found my sport bikes get abused more from a side wind than my Tiger. I would think the Tiger would be worse due to the amount of surface area, but i think here is where weight is your friend.

The Tiger suffers more from a head wind than a sport bike though.

The Strom has the same affliction. Large frontal surface area equals some challenging rides on windy days. I usually don't get pushed from the side unless its a large gust across a body of water or similiar.

I get tossed around a bit on the 9r with cross winds. I slow down to reduce it. It's a small tradeooff for the lighter easy turning, braking.

I ride an '05 GL1800 from time to time for long weekend getaways and it doesn't budge. I suspect it has more to do with its weight (900#) than anything else.

Rode the 919 yesterday and got hit with some probably 30mph+ cross winds in a few spots. I definately got pushed around and a little unerving since the traffic was fairly heavy.

We went up to Cedarburg.

UP: 94 to Layton / 794 to lincoln / lincoln to 32 to bayside
100 west to 57 north to cedarburg rd.

DOWN: 43 to 43/94 s to rawson (sportland 2) 13th st to 142 east.

I guess between 5 and 6 we were s/b.
