I'm a dumba$$!

I may have mentioned that I had to buy a few new batteries over the past weeks. So, the H-D has new battery. I finished mowing and wanted to go for a quick ride. Well, I check the oil and it was very low. My mind is other places at this time so I start putting in some nice sweet new synthetic honey 20-50. Still low ... I put more in. Finally, it's at proper level.

I pull the choke and within on spin ... kicks right over! So, I start putting on my equipment. For those that don't know, the H-D is a dry sump system and has an oil tank. Having sat for a while the tank was low. Now, I turn around and there is oil everywhere! I mean everywhere!! On my truck in the driveway, all over the bike!!! WTF!!!!!!! The oil/temp cap blew off about 6-7 ft. All I could do is laugh at myself and start cleaning up!!

Oil likes to get absorbed into driveway pavers. Used the entire 50lb bag of kitty litter! It's sitting on the stand and the oil is now draining. I think it is a good time for an oil change. I'll let it sit while I shower.

Oh, no need to worry about RC's hair. He'll have that fixed within minutes of messing it up.

It should be good to go. I'm out of here in about 30 minutes for a few meetings that should be over by 8p.

The freak'n oil sitting in the case recirculated into the tank and "there she blows!" I don't have a spare chrome filter ... crap. Just an oil drain and refresh.

On a side not I found an old new set of H-D highway pegs that were never used because they were ugly. Now they are replacing the lost highway pegs on the KLR. Bringing bling and chrome to the KLR!

Ouch?! That bad boy has made to Myrtle Beach, Charleston and back to Mass for a total of 2700 miles in 4-days burning only .5 quarts of oil. This from a bored and stroke motor with a bump in compresion and emptying 2-2 lb bottles of NOS in Myrtle Beach.

The only bike that have ever left me stranded is the KLR!

Hauling a bike on top of a pick up truck is not considered riding it... on most parts of the world anyways!

The bike is still excellent. It was the aftermarket exhaust. The guts blew out of it. The first time killing the plug. The second time ... it made for a long loud 400 miles.

That and the grips must be slippery since you drop it a lot.
