I can't believe my wife approved...

Well I did it...
I went to Cal Moto and special ordered my BMW K1200GT.
Because I wanted so many options they have to build it for me.
I will recieve it mid June so for now I'll just show up at the dealership once a week bugging them to give me a loaner

I was so excited, I just had to take this picture...

I've actually been planning this purchase for two years, as I wanted the new GT but I wasn't willing to get the first model year. I also knew I would pay off my truck loan this April and that gave me the opportunity to save up some more $$$$$.

I went with a fully loaded GT in Dark Graphite Metallic, with the Dark Slate Metallic Side Covers and the low Black heated seats. They don't have one in the USA, so that's why they special ordered it for me

Well I got that out of the way already, as six years ago we purchased two Labrador retrievers and they proceeded to destroy our back yard... they played tug of war with the fruit trees, stripping off all of the bark and then pulling out plants, shrubs and everything else that was alive back there. It looked like the Afghani countryside after an A10 Warthog went through there. Well now that the doggies are older and have settled down my wife pined for a new yard... so I succumbed to her request for a landscape architect and crew to re-invent our backyard. Now after $30K in improvements, the wife is very happy.
and you boys know the saying: "If Momma’s not happy, no ones happy."

Wooo hoooo

After a two-month wait, I picked up my GT Saturday and the only issue I had with it, was the color of the seats - I ordered black and they gave me grey. The bike is awesome as we took it to around Uvas road and it ran perfect - its engine is smooth, the transmission is a bit clunky (maybe my Honda riding style), the brakes aren’t bedded in yet, but they feel powerful as all get out and the adjustable suspension really makes a difference. I can’t wait till its break in period is over so I can redline it. The one thing that is taking a bit getting used to is the turn signals, but I was getting better at it by the end of the day

Yep... last year I demo'ed the K1200R and the RT and when the 06 GT came out I took a test ride... I was smitten with the K power and I loved the comfort of the GT, but I wanted to wait for the second year bike so I bought it and so far, I'm glad I did.
