Don't hate me

Well, while I'm still new to this site I did what to some might seem the unthinkable; I traded off my 919 for this:

And you know what? I'm a lot happier. Went on a looong ride with a good friend that has a Sabre. 1/2 way through we switched and I was hooked. My body liked the ride better than the 919 even if my heart was slow to follow. I got back my full price on the 919 and got a very good price on the Sabre. It just soots me better. I'm happier and afterall isn't that what counts? I know I'll ride more now.

Congratulations on the new ride.
If you're more comfortable, ride more and are happier that's what's important.

I went through the cruiser era decades back. I still like them. My problem was I tried to override them.

Nice bike. Congrats and enjoy.

I like it, but I think you'll go back to something with performance in the future. Possibly when the new V-max comes out.

Smooth looking bike, doc. The 919 isn't for everybody. I certainly think it's a great bike, but I really don't miss mine all that much. Get out and enjoy that thing!

I did the opposite and traded my saber in for my niner!. I loved my saber when I had it. But since I'm the modding type I just ran out of things to do. I had the Cobra Dragster pipes on it and had it jetted and a K&N. Had a nice deep tone to it at a idle but got loud at WOT. The only stuff I could do to it after that was apperance mods so I had to get something else before it got to expensive. The dealer sold it about a two weeks ago which is good because for the past year I've been thinking about buying it back and doing something like this to it.

P.M. me if you want some links to some saber forums.

Ah man, you people are the greatest, sniff-sniff. Ok slapped myself out of it. Thanks seriously, and yes I will get to enjoy Jr.'s Street Triple now & then for the "thrill of it" haha.

It's nice to still get the "wave" back from the folks on their more sporting bikes when I wave.

Yup, it's a Honda so I know I'll have a dependable ride. Agreed, it's all about just riding, the different bikes just make it fun.

No hate here! As a couple others have said: At least you have a bike... I took my friends beat up Suzuki Bandit 400 out last night, and although I'd never buy that bike, I had a great time getting out on one again.

Nothing will kill your enjoyment like being physically uncomfortable when you're riding. If it feels good and it's comfortable when you ride it, it's the right bike for you.

Enjoy!

(one day I might own a V-rod, I've always liked those)

had this for three years and was always making excuses for not riding it. Was a good bike and rock solid on the highway but I kept trying to overide it, I like the twisties too much that is no the cruiser's forte so I traded it in for XR's for the son and myself. Hope you enjoy it DOC that big twin has an awesome feel to it and sounds great with the right pipes.

Thanks again. I'll be adding the Vance & Hines Pro-Pipe soon (along with rejetting), outside of that I'll think I'll keep it as is for quite a while. See you guys on the road!

No hate here. I moved to the 9er from cruisers, and probably will be moving back to them. I'm more comfortable laid back on a cruiser.

That's what I'm talking about! My previous bike was an 02 Warrior. Great bike, great looks, great handling, great power. Just didn't have the money to mod it like I wanted. Got rid of the payments and bought the 9er in cash. Better to have a bike that I don't need to mod to hell.

Thats the reason I had to get rid of my saber. My buddy had a Warrior and it was a very nice bike. Have to get rid of that exhaust can though!
