Brothers first bike

Hey everyone just bought my brother his first bike. It is a 1982 yamaha 500. It has been sitting for a wile cause the tabs say 04 the guy I picked it up from said it was his sons and he had moved so it was time to clean the garage he added aprox 2 gallons of gas to the already varnished 1/2 gallon in the tank. It idles great and revs up great but when you get on it it spits and sputters at the higher RPMS so I am gona flush the tank and carbs with some carb cleaner. Any other sugestions would be great. By the way it handles like a dump truck compared to my 919.

If it is a SR500, that was my first bike. I butchered it with my first attempts to modify a bike. I built a new subframe, swingarm, seat, fork brace, bars. I wish I still had it. I have looked for one all over ebay, but they are always across the country from me. Lets see a pic.

Motorusher formally known as DirtySanchez919.
