81 550/ 650 hybrid getting finished up
550 finished last year y
Sometimes , on a Saturday, I'll take a few out just to run them for a bit and give them some sunshine. I can't do it often enough. Townspeople get nervous when they don't know where all those bikers are . I think that's half the fun.
The camobike is done now (old picture)
and work has started on the matching sidecar (last week)
It now has a camo shoei box on the rear rack and a windshield . Camo seat covers are next and i think that I should get some fresh frame mounts and hook them together.
My minitrail Z50 1969 model waiting for restoration:
I started out on the Nighthawk 700S. Still have it, but it has an oil leak in the head and the carbs have been giving me fits, so I rid the 919 instead. Got tired of working on it so much, the engine was a mix of a parting out bike and a fixer. Got a few good years out of her and she was dam fun to ride.
My first real bike was a Honda CB550sc Nighthawk. I paid $200 for it in non-running condition. The carbs were never 100% right, but it ran great up to 65 mph. I loved that bike, but I out-grew it and sold it. I would love to have one of those 700S's in my garage though. What a great looking motorcycle.
The purple one is my sons. 1992 CBR600F2 BEAUTIFUL bike.
The red one was my grandfathers it's a 1967 Yamaha 305 Bigbear Scrambler. My uncle bought it from him about 15 years ago. It has been stored in a shed for 20 years before that. A little over a year ago he told me he wanted me to have it. Since he only has a step daughter and I'm his oldest nephew who is carrying the family name. I finally made time to go pick her up last weekend! I need to clean and coat the tank and clean the carbs and she should be ready to go. He put over 3k into her to get her running and shiny again. I'll cherish her till I pass her down to one of my sons.
I had a damn near pristine F2 2 years ago that barely lasted two months before it was stolen.. was a hell of a barn find. Who steals a 25 year old bike? I kinda miss it. It was the only bike I've had that got constant attention everywhere I went...
