I used to ride one of those old Arctic Cat sleds with a rotary in it from time to time.

Not the fastest thing on the planet but it definitely sounded fun!

Considering the poor performance and fuel economy of the newish RX8, I can't imagine a motorcycle manufacturer taking on the challenge of building a new rotary motor.

It was funny - I have a 1976 RE5 and when the President of Suzuki came to check out my shop, he told me " Ahh, this bike almost ruined Suzuki ." Suzuki had spent so much time and money on delvoping the bike , that when it flopped , it put them in a real pinch - Thanks goodness for the Quad/ATV ! if not for thier work on that line, Suzuki would have folded in 1980-

I believe Mazda owns the patent, now. A friend of mine has an 06 RX8 with a 6 speed manual and it is tons of fun. 9.5 k redline, but no powerband.
