I don't think you're allowed to wear that shirt when riding a Rickman.

If it is a original Rickman CR1+1 it would look similar to mine except for the color. It would probably be Kawi - green.

Not 100% sure, did not think the Rickman brothers were still selling frame kits in 1981, check it out and also see if the bike is registered as a Rickman or a Kawi. Obviously being a Rickman adds to the value.

Find out what year Z1 motor and what if any mods to it, BTW, Rickman did not make 4 into 1 exhausts.

It is definitely work looking at, you can call me when you are checking it out.
Price is high but should be negotiable especially if we can poke a few holes.

Keep me informed.

Mike, I went up to look at it and take pics. Well, my camera battery was dead! It has a title as a 1981 Rickman. I have the VIN No. The motor is from a 1974 Kawasaki Z1A. It is red and has a "rare" 2-up seat. It was buried behind several bikes, so I didn't climb all over it. He believes the only non-stock items are the braided brake lines.

It was in 7 out of 10 shape. Not perfect, but nice. Several nicks, scratches, and spider cracks in the fiberglass. It has 20k miles. He said it is a Rickman exhaust ... that is the sweetest part of the bike. Beautiful.

I just don't see $9k worth of bike.

2-up is not exactly rare, more like the norm. for a CR 1+1. The exhaust is more likely to be a Kerker or some other period 4 into 1. I agree $9k is high considering the Rickman was a kit bike. Is the seller willing to budge on the price?

too bad, neat bike to own. I think 6-7k is reasonable from your description.
