Motorcyclist Retro to debut in May

Found this in a vintage motorcycle blog. Might subscribe...

"Just a short note to tell you all that Motorcyclist Retro, our new classic/vintage magazine, will be available on newsstands this May, and be available for about 3 months from there.

We've pretty much packed the issue with '60s, '70s and '80s Japanese iron, collections, people and tech, so it's likely to mesh with this group's likes pretty well. The cover story, for instance, is titled "Summer of '69," and features the CB750 and Mach III. There're are also features on the Yamaha Mini Enduro, Brad Lackey's '82 championship season, Yamaha RDs, Mid-Ohio VMD, Barber's Vintage Fest, Kevin Schwantz's reunion with his first-ever Superbike racer, the #289 '85 Yoshimura GS700 he blew folks' minds with, and much more.

If we get decent newsstand sales on this one, the company will continue to support us. So I'm asking for as much help as you can give us. So tell everyone you know to buy a copy or two. If it sells well, we'll be around to cover more of the stuff we all love to ride, restore, race, shine and yak about.

So thanks!

Cool, hope they can make it work.

They need to be careful though. Buncha squids are gonna get run over.

Mitch is a decent guy, I offered him my GS at Barber for a session. He was initially excited but chose to not ride it. I'd hoped to pitch the website in the magazine but never got the chance.

Can't seem to find a link to online subscription? The standard Motorcyclist magazine no problem. Anyone else find it?

I knew Boehm left the other mag. Is this his own venture or backed by Motorcyclist or other rag?

Look on the bright side, at least you don't live in Canada, the price is 9 bucks there.

The wonder of the 60's and 70's. Beautiful times to grow up in. Very very nice. I cannot forget back in '69 the guy who passed on buying Dad's Sidewinder 250 showing up in our driveway the next Saturday on a brand spanking new white MachIII. I was 13 and wide eyed and just as impressed as a 13 year old could be. Dad bought me a Kawi 90 Bushmaster that summer and changed my life forever.

In my opinion, the M1 rifle is the greatest battle implement ever devised.

I've been a subscriber to Motorcycle Classics for about two years now and have enjoyed the mag alot. This new one seems to be along the same lines but seems to cost almost double for some odd reason.
They have a website www.MotorcycleClassics.com
Only bad part about it is it olny comes out every two months, other than that, super nice pics, and great articles.
I read the British mag FastBikes and at aound 10 bucks a copy I thought it was a little pricey but none the less, I believe I'll ride the 30 miles to Books A Million and get the latest copy of Motorcyclist Retro to check out.

There will be two more issues on news stands this year. If they have good sales, they'll start offering subscriptions in 2009.
