Craigslist is Killing Me!

I've been looking on CL for a while trying to find a deal on a project bike. Had a few bikes in mind but nothing set in stone. Thinking maybe 70's Honda CB, 80's Interceptor, or some other older bike. I was looking to pick something around $1500 or less. Really just looking for something cheap that struck my fancy that I could tinker with and get running well enough to ride to work and back.

Well I have always really liked the looks of the older BMW's and today I found a 1984 R65, one owner, 18K miles, black in mint condition with no price listed. So I'm thinking how much can I justify spending right now? I think about and decide I can maybe scape up about $2,500 max without having to get a divorce. So I reply to the ad hoping to get a reply back that the guy just wants to see it ridden and he'll let it for $2,000. No such luck, $3,400 firm.

I want this bike in a bad way but can't justify spending the money right now with the economy the way it is. I wish I'd never seen that bike!
Somebody please talk me into selling a kidney or something to buy this bike. This reasonable thinking is out of character for me.

Dude..... Priorities in life.
If you have to scrape to get this... then that means you do not have the spare cash for an emergency. Think smart!
Bikes will always be around!

Yeah, I don't really need to spend to the money. I only have $2k in my "play money" fund. It stinks that I can't go buy it guilt free.

Oh wait, I forgot about the daughters college fund. Nah, that would be just plain wrong. Maybe next time.

I'm about 3 hours from Deals Gap. I need to get up there and ride it. I've never been through there on a bike. There are just too many good roads between here and there so I can't ever seem to make it that far.
