So , the black 500
met the new 550 in the shop
Parts were exchanged , painted .polished. New seals, brakes,a basic clean up as needed. I brought the finished 500
readied for winter ,and brought to the theater to mingle with the rest until spring. The remains of the 550, that'll be the next project, after the camo sidecar project.
Anyways, this is the completed 500.
And now for the good news, the reason for this thread. I spent the entire day cleaning, organizing the entire shop. I know where the tools are and have a pretty decent idea of what stock is still available for the next projects. the proof
it isn't as pretty a some guys shops, but I call it home.
Camo sidecar to be on a new thread, thanks for watching.
Von Donnern, I kept a running record of this on a blog site right here Wrist Twisters - rb550four
I did use sheet metal screws on the track for the ice but, in snow it didn't seem to make a difference.
It's always fun on a warmish winters day, not so much when the temps are less than 20 degrees.
The chain tention was rectified with the use of a half link on the drive,so no more chain tentioners. rb550four - YouTube
just for fun, checking the welds on it's maiden voyage.
Okay, I stumbled on the order of the next project, Thought sidecar but ended up doing the nasty 550 at the top of the page. Total breakdown, paint frame, tank and other body parts, installed newly rebuilt 500 engine ( I'll rebuild the 550 engine later)repaired nasty wiring harness...... got carbs and a seat to go, This is what it looks like now.
