Cafe Project Done

When it is cold in Indiana you head to the shop. From the dark confines of the basement this cafe bike emerged.

This was a '75 CL360 - more... maybe less of leftovers from my Scrambler restoration... I plan on taking it to show (not to win) at mid-Ohio in July at the vintage bike days event.

Hope the rain is gone tomorrow - I hate to see it turn warm and then lose a whole weekend of riding the Niner.

Looks very good. I think you should give us some more details on your conversion. This crowd loves a good resto project.

I'll work on the BOTM thing... as well as do more photos of the Restoration. Just done with patients - time to ride!
Thanks for the thumbs up!

I hadn't checked the thread for a while. Here is the link I posted to more photos and explantion of the project: Cafe bike story and photos is the search phrase
https://www.wristtwisters.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=12648

I don't encourage anyone to take a great original bike and cafe the thing -please restore what is restorable - but if it is past 50% - cafe the He** out of it....

The bike rides with too much weight on the hands and elbows as well as some good neck jolts for an old guy.. only adds to the challenge. Corners very well but remember - drum brakes aren't sport brakes. Can't beat the 360 motor - runs like a honda. I have to admit that if a valve nut backs off and the adjusting bolt falls into the came chain the whole thing unravels.... The new motor is not so blue. Mostly black now...

We locals did a vintage ride about two weeks ago - 60 miles around the county... pulled up to a convenience store where a bunch of Harley guys and gals were suiting up... I said "you guys are going to smile" as the other six bikes pulled in... 20 minutes later they rolled off when we did... People smile when we have the old stuff out...
