Very nice! If I were there I would help you restore it myself just to beg a ride on it later.

Sweet! Looks like it's in pretty good condition as well.

Definately restore it! I have a soft spot for the oldies.....Vincents, Triumphs, BSA's. You're crazy if you don't.

Jet beat me to it....

Send it to me and I will send you a check for ten times the value since I have no relative in Malasia for the transaction! For your trouble you may keep the entire amount and buy yourself a new bike. Just send your bank account number for direct wire of funds. I like to try business with you.

Seriously, Yes restore that thing. It would be beautiful! JohnnyB would be able to tell you some info on it I bet!

If you have the means absolutely restore it.

Number one rule for restoring: the less you do to it, the greater the value. In other words original rules! It looks good enough to just clean it up, redo the seat as close to stock as possible, and get it into running condition. Relating to that, it would appear the motor is way down on compression -- try adjusting the valves first; you may get lucky. Know as well that the magneto / generator magnets have probably weakened to the point where they may not be strong enough to light the fire: they can be remagnetized, but where it could be done near you is up for grabs. Anyway, it certainly looks worth the effort. Keep us posted.

I'd have to agree with rob here. Spiff it up immensely and get her running nicely. You can spend a little time on the web searching and learning about the bike. That is such a sweet find, advo. I remember those bikes well when I was a tot.

First things first, get rid of the gas in the tank and clean the carb.

Another item -- if possible, find an original Amal carb for it if you intend to sell the finished bike. Otherwise, leave the Mikuni on it.

Jet beat me as well.

Don't restore it! Clean it up a bit, get it running, and enjoy! Minimal dollar input for maximum fun output.

Send it to me and I will pay shipping and your trackdays for the next month!

Congratulations, advocatt, on getting the BSA running. Is it a B40?

It sure looks good sitting in the window of the shop (nice shop, by the way). The vintage machine makes a great counterpoint to the modern Kawasaki.

Thanks for sharing with us.
