Bike recommendation

My mom lives in LA and is looking to buy a used bike. She's owned older Hondas in the past and that's what she wants to stick with. I think her last bike was a cb500 but I could be wrong, it's not my thing. Any suggestions on an older or newer bike that might work? I tried to steer her to a sv650n but she wasn't having it. She won't do any work herself and I'm afraid an old bike might be a basket case if the maintenance hasn't been done. I recommended the sv because it's lighter and has better brakes/everything.

Maybe a Honda CB 300F or 500R could work...

Keep an eye out for a Honda CB-1. Only available a couple of years, but a great bike. 400cc and liquid cooled.

How tall is she, what type of riding does she do, and what kind of budget is she working with? One of the new CB500 bikes might be a good fit, or maybe a NC700. A Suzuki GS500 might also be a good choice.

She won't pay the money for new, nor does she like the looks. I think that these would be great bikes for her though. She just wants to cruise around on weekends and when the traffic isn't bad.

That's pretty cool! Reminds me of the Hawk, I'll have to put both of those on the list.

Yes, I'm not sure if she'd want it for herself though. She described it as "sexy" which was kind of disturbing to me. I did think a 599 would be a good fit although she doesn't need that much HP.

She's 5'10", has a bad back, and just wants to cruise around. GS500 might fit the bill.

I'd definitely look at a GS500. If she wants something a little more cruiser-ish, a TU250 of Boulevard S40 might work. A later model Nighthawk 250 or 750 would be a good bike as well.
