1986 Honda Inteceptor V-Four

I like almost all of your am always snooping for bikes, came across this one and am really interested in it. I am going to look at it Saturday if its still available.

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/d...806696929.html

Does anyone have any insight on these bikes? I have looked at a few of them, (almost bought a '84) it just seems like it would be a super fun bike to play with and own.

Rebuilt motor!!! Red Flag... The early Interceptors had soft cam lobs. The 16" front wheel gave these bikes handling problems.

buy it if your into classics.
MY friend has dumped his limit into one..... Overheats and has very crappy handling compared to a 919.......

Get what suits your taste but dont expect 2009 carving on a 80's chassis.

The ex-wife had one, poor acceleration, crappy brakes and skinny little tires without modern day traction.
I agree with Pegjumpflyer, unless you're trying to regain something you left behind the 9er has it beat hands down.

haha I am 18, the only thing i have left behind is a run down '84 Ascot.

I guess I will deal with my love for classic bikes when I am an old guy and can afford to do it...

I don't know out of college? I already afforded the 9'er paid up front.

The ascot actually cornered pretty good, I thought. It was slow though for sure.

I have heard it before... but to be honest its prolly good for me to keep hearing it. I love the 919 tho, bike of my dreams. I would just love to have 1 or 10 other bikes.

It wasnt uncommon for these bike to need a re-build if the cams went out - And they did ! All the early V4s had issues with it - Im all for getting older bikes and gettin them back out on the road - I say get it !

worst comes to worse i can put a new ignition in it and a new mirror and sell it for more than $500... i could even part it out if it was to far gone and more than remake my $500, (i would hate to do that) man i just HAVE to go look at it.

I've got fond, fond memories of my 500 Interceptor.

Unless the bike is a total piece of trash, it can't hurt to go take a look at it...$500 says so!

haha kinda funny you posted that, because i love them!! I have been looking for the right Sabre or Magna for a long time. It would be so fun, to have a cruiser that will do 160mph. Someday...
