Yet another FNG...

I'm saving my pennies and turning in soda pop bottles ( ask your dad if you're under 35 ) to get either a 919 or a Kawi Z1000. I found this site through 919.org's link.

Hope you guys ( & girls ) will let me hang out.

Hey, I know what you mean. Back in the good old days me and one of my buddies collected soda bottles so we could by a neighbors world war II era moped. it cost us $20. For those of you too young to remember, that translates into 1000 bottles at 2 cents each. we were pretty clueless but when you're 11 yrs old anything that looks like a motorcycle is cool.

I've had a chance to ride the z1000 on a few occasions and didn't care for it. lots of horsepower but very buzzy. not a comfortable ride.

The z1000 is a rare bike down here. None of the Kawi dealers in the area even have one. I suppose that will make the decision a little easier.

I have a couple of CT70's for pit bikes, they fit in the racecar trailer perfectly and are great for some of the larger tracks like Houston Raceway Park and National Trail in Ohio. 30+ years old and they start on the first kick (litterally). I think it may be the Sunoco 110 fuel that I've been using in the candy red 1970. Besides, it's smells so good.

Too bad your not from the tri-state area (NY-NJ-CT). I know of a mint Z that can be had for $4600.
You could always take a trip up this way and ride it home.

Welcome! Get the 919, all the reviews on the Z complain about the vibes. Am I biased!??! Hell no!

Welcome aboard! Get the 919 as everyone here knows it's the greatest bike ever made

It's also true that you will gain the extra 20hp when you clothespin the cards to the spokes. Ridgerunner taught me that

I've been a motorcycle info junkie for 25 years. I've had the thumper, inline and v twins, sportbike and standards. Now that I've had my 919 for a while I'm not even interested in other bikes any more. I don't read my bike magazines any more. Basically I've found what I consider to be the perfect bike. I also liked the z1000 but the 919 seemed more comfortable. If you can get a chance try both out. I doubt you'd be dissappointed with either.
