Would you buy one?

...If Honda took a CBR1000 engine, and left off a cylinder and made it into a 750cc 3 cylinder, put it into a decent aluminum frame, decent suspention bits, and gave it some sharp styling? Torque is 60 ft lbs. HP is aprox 120 at the rear wheel. Curb weight is aprox 430lbs. OTD price aprox $9k.

I don't think they'd be able to make enough of them.

I don't know why, but Honda has always wussed out on the three banger idea. They've built bikes with oval pistons and inline six cylinders, but never a triple. I'd really like to see one.

No, it'd leak oil really bad where they left off the cylinder.

Are we talking naked or faired? That'd be some pretty good RWHP for a three cylinder 750.

Take a look at my Avatar, that's a V-3.

You're describing a Benelli by the way. They're out now.

Sounds delicious. I'd probably buy one. Are we talking about a naked or a sportbike? Or a naked hooligan-bike

Since I'm dreaming stuff up, I'd make it a true naked sport bike. It'd have a handlebar for ease of altering riding position, and a little something up front like the Ulisseys has, then you could simply add a piece of plexiglass for a bit of a fairing. Dual 3' headlights, and an underbelly exhaust. An "off road Hondaline silencer" would be available as well as an inexpencive "chip" for track only, of course. The solo seat version would be sprung and set up for 1 person. The dual seat version would be sprung for 2. Colors would be yellow, an almost black purple candy red.

That Benelli is sweet. That is an 1180cc Triple. Honda technology with a lighter 750 should be able to walk its dog any day. No?
