Not sure if the screen is going to stay or not. Never ridden a bike with one, so I'm going to take a little while and see if I like it. If not, it'll be listed here for all to drool and fight over.

The first thing that I think I'm going to have to do to it though is get rid of all of the decals. If they were under clear coat they might not look so bad, but to me they just stick out like a sore thumb. Going to have to get out the heat gun and some patience this weekend I think. Or maybe I'll just go ride it.

The wing decals on your tank are cleared over so you might want to rethink pulling those off! I think you can safely pull the rest of them though.

Good to see ya and make the acquaintance,, from the other side of the globe. I belong to a couple of other bike forums, local and international but this one is by far the most helpful, the friendliest,, and most downright neighbourly bunch of them all. Some other forums can get verbally abusive and abrupt if you state your mind and all hell can break loose over nothing. Not Here... I really enjoy this one so much, I seldom log into any of the others anymore...

Well, I finally got a chance to ride today. Dang this bike is going to cost me a lot of money in tickets. It's a big step up from the 99 Nighthawk 750 that I had. I'm loving it so far though.

So, here are a couple pictures of it:

Welcome B,

Just take the screen off, spray some flat black plastic paint to the inside and remount.

You'll change your mind and keep the dang thing.

EDIT: Just looked at the pics. Wow, that bike's a virgin (no mods). She won't be for long if you hang around here.

For now it is staying stock. Of course, that's only because I'm pretty much broke after buying this and a new Arai helmet (had to replace the HJC that protected my bean when I laid down my Nighthawk). Eventually though, I'm quite sure that I'll get the sickness. In fact, one of the first things that I'd like to do is to replace the big ol' beast of a headlight with a set of dual 4" beams.

very clean, looking for an asphalt one myself...how many miles on her? exhaust stink? and yeah the flat blk painted screen would add the meaness of your bike. i plan on adding new bars, bar end mirrors, some yoshi's and other du-dads, but will keep it pretty stealth. Congrats!

How does painting the windscreen affect the value of it, in case I decide that I don't like it after all?

Also, thanks everyone for the comments. Glad to be part of the community.

Welcome to the madness. "For now just keeping it stock" Ha that's what I said! Now I'm neck deep, brakelines, signals, GPS, and more. Tell you what. Paint the windscreen like suggested. If you don't like it I'll take it off your hands

Well, that's going to be hard since I have to get home from work today. But, I will definitely be getting some soon. Anyone have suggestions on where to get them. I know the ones that mount directly to the engine are highly NOT recommended.

Yeah, the "just keeping it stock" part is based on the fact that I'm broke now. As soon as I come into more money, things will be changing.

And I've had a lot of interest in that windscreen. I need to figure out how much that thing is worth. I might decide I don't like it even faster.
