Wishing Honda made a naked V-twin like the 919

I rode my RC-51 for the first time in a month last weekend. I like my 919 but riding the 51 really made me wish for a naked V-twin. The motor is just amazing for street riding. I wonder if anyone makes a decent conversion for an RC-51 to make it a naked standard?

you could get a tl1000s, it is semi naked. almost bandit style.... be the easiest probably to transform to naked like the 919

from what i hear they got some more go to them than the sv's, but possibly not as comfortable as the 919, but then again if he is use to a rc51...the tl is one of it's competitors.

Take off the plastic. Order a kit from Speigler. (triple clamp, handlebars ,lines and cables). Done deal.

I've ridden my 919 and my brother in law's SV1000 back to back. The engine doesn't feel any better to me than my 919. It seems to have about the same amount of power and torque with a much less comfortable riding position.

nowhere near the same 'class' or 'Class', 2 wheels and the lump are about all they have in common imho

get a vtr 1000, strip it down throw some bars and a headlight on it and you would be half way there... ok, maybe a quarter of the way there.

Looks like it.. Weirdly mounted front radiators, Honda Vtwin. Doesn't look like a Superhawk. So it must be a RC.

I had a Firestorm (Superhawk to the US) before the 51 and it was a nice bike. Massive motor, great brakes, so so suspension. Not a sport bike for sure.

Get one of the later models with a larger tank if you go that route, they're thirsty beasts.

Superhawk is neither naked nor standard. I thought about a superhawk or an sv1000 but they are too close to the RC (covered in plastic and leaned over).
I wish they sold the STANDARD sv1k in the US.

don't you guys get the naked sv1000 in the states?...
if not you poooooooooooor buggers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I rode a mates sv1000n today,
seemed to be down on power compared to the 9r until i looked at the speedo,
deceptive power.
had a heap of grunt overtaking @100-150kph 60-90mph.
seemed to handle better
sounded better(love that twin sound with yoshis)
didn't stop as well.
loved the digital speedo.

i'd own one.

I to wish honda had a good v twin.
The Vtr/night hawk just doesn't do it for me.

If you go to the site right click once you are there and see if your browser can translate it into english this thing cost about 60,000 euros??? to build they have a complete price and parts list I think the best part is ..is that they are a Honda dealership that builds it

Only a few SV1000 were ever imported. There are SV1000S's everwhere but I've never been a big fan of the 2nd generation SV styling.

I live in South Mississippi. I stand a better chance of getting hit by a meteor than finding a Tuono. Too bad I don't want a Harley or a Shadow. Can't swing a dead cat without hitting one of those around here.

Tell me about it; I had to get mine from Conneticut.
Shipping was $735 + $100 for insurance.
It was worth it though.
