Windscreen for 919

So, I have been looking at windscreeens...
Called the dealer and asked about the Honda OEM one. They told me it was $88. which included hardware.
I had seen this one on ebay-
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=230076632519

Is this the same one the dealer is quoting at $88?

It looks like the Honda OEM windscreen to me. I have the same one.
Looks like the ebay winning bidder paid too much....

My 919 had the screen on it when I bought it.

Funny how sometimes ebayers do not know their pricing or product value
very well.. And as you guys have noted, a new one can be bought for $72.50 from several online dealers. Oh ya, he will so have to pay for shipping on top of $112.00

Makes you wounder what some people are thinking!....

Funny eh!...

I went with the Givi A245 and would give it a 6.5 out of 10. Just not what I expected for the money. Just seems a bit too cheap/flimsy for the cost and only marginally affects the wind flow. Granted, the 245 is smaller (which I wanted) so it should hold to reason that the effect would be small...

Just my opinion.

That thing goes to an '05 Hornet 600.
It will NOT fit, the headlight is way bigger.

I always wondered if that headlight on the 600 was brighter than the 900. Seeing that it's a different design.......

I am not sure if this is a Honda aftermarket unit but to me seems as it is due to the color match and the stock looking Honda logo. I am not sure if this screen is still available from Honda, It was on the bike I purchased used. I like the Cafe style it adds to the 9'er.3.jpg

That almost looks like somebody shaved down a Givi. Can't be a National Cycle, it's way too small.

I would venture to guess it is a Ducati tall windscreen for a Monster. I saw something very similar on eBay a few days ago. Didn't come with the screen though. I asked the buyer if he know someone who produced the aftermarket screen, but he didn't know.

I bought the factory sheild, but all it seems to do is put more wind noise into my helmet, I could be talked out of it for $50.

If you're willing, you can cut about 1/2 inch off the top and it helps immensely. I went out today with it and cannot believe the difference. The wind hits me in the neck, but it is much better than all the helmet noise I was getting at full length. It looks like a flattop now, but you have to look close to see that I cut it. I'm still looking for another alternative.

I'm running the OEM shield also. Like the shape of it but also have the wind issue. I'm 5'11". I still get the wind noise in my helmet when riding relaxed. If I raise up about 3-4 incjes it goes away. That little shield does make a big difference for its size. When the weather turns warm here again I'm gonna paint the inside of it black like MisterMike's mod. Looks sweet blacked out!

Yeah, I got a lot of wind buffeting around my helmet with the oem screen so I took it off. I am thinking of cutting it down and painting it black though. Any pics of it cut?

I'm only 5'9", so the OEM shield does add some noise, but not enough to make me start cutting it down. The wind noise isn't so bad since I usually wear earbuds on the highway.

After seeing your install i would have to say that my screen is not a Ducati part. If there is any guess to what this windscreen is let me know. My shield is scuffed and would like to find a replacement.

You're right. The windscreen I saw on eBay was definitely not the same as the one I just installed. However, the person selling it claimed it was a Ducati Tall Windscreen for a Monster. Not sure what that means, or where you could even get one. I looked around, but couldn't find any more information.

I had the OEM one on for awhile but I switched out for the National Cycle F16. Most of the wind hits the top of my helmet now.

It looks like my grandpa should be riding my bike, but hey it's my commuter and it's all about comfort. :-P Although if I could find one like wisco919's I'd probably switch.
