Who's ridden the 06 FZ?

I saw my first one yesterday. Very nice looking. I liked the riding position. Just about everything I have read says down on low end power compared to the old one, which was nothing to write home about. A change of riding style may be needed. I'd like to have more power in the upper rev range, but not sure if giving up the midrange is a good trade off.

Personally I like grunt in the low end. I do alot of stop and go city riding. I would imagine the powerband choice is one that depends on where you ride and how you ride. Conversely, the 919 is not that great for highway stretches, but still fun... But admittedly I do dream of a fairing when I am at the 15 mile mark on the freeway.

I like the postitioning on the FZ, but that is all I have done is sit on it.

Hey Sniper, haven't ridden it, but I was very interested in swapping my R1 for one until I read several reviews complaining of a notchy fuel injection....that turned me off. See the 3/07 sport rider mag where they tried a pipe and fuel injection module without much improvement.

I own one and have made a number of mods to address the weak low and mid range. Overall it's a great bike. Most of the power is still above 6k RPM.
