Given my dedication to science, and purely for the purposes of science, I made multiple runs "through" the rev limiter this afternoon (that is what I would have told the officer). By through, I mean I pinned the throttle and allowed the limiter to do its job. This time, unlike before, I concentrated on the tach. It happened just before 10,500 rpm every time. So, it is reasonably likely that Honda designed it to have a 9,500 rev limiter and what we are seeing is the 10% ish error that is common amongst speedo's and tach's. Only a dyno would really tell us the truth. But, I can say that my bike hits the rev limiter, per what the tach is saying, at just before 10,500 every time.
