I am running Renthal ultra low bars. As for the brake fluid, just the stock master cylinder. Eventually, I want to get a Nissin M/C with detached fluid reservoir and braided stainless brake lines, but, they are not on my priority list.

CB1000R bars and CBR954 M/C & calipers. I probably don't count though since I don't have 919 triples.

TharBars adjusted as narrow as possible: 22 1/2 inches to the ends of the grips. Yeah, I don't expect many to go this extreme, but the bars can be considerably wider. While I have no assembled bar sets at the moment there are plenty of components still available.

Frankly, I have never liked the Ultra Lows as they follow the typical dirt bike practice of rise instead of drop, requiring rotating back to get the controls in a comfortable position (drop instead of rise), and at least for me are way too wide. Again, personal preference.

As to the master cylinder, it's a 17.5 mm radial Nissin unit stock on all years of the CBR 1000 I got from Ebay for a paltry $48 including shipping. The calipers are stock, and the combination decreases the effort at the lever slightly, which is the reason why I did this. The reservoir is (if I remember correctly) a rear brake reservoir for a GSXR 1000 I had laying around that took some modifying to decrease the diameter of the hose fitting, and mounted using a piece of 1/8" stainless steel welding rod. It's plenty strong for this application and places the reservoir as low as possible to cure the typical barnaclesque look of the normal mounts for a sport bike application which is hidden by a fairing. Contrary to popular opinion the reservoir does not have to be a gravity feed: as long as there is no air in the feed line it works just fine.

If it has already been done, it is safe to assume it is possible to do it.
On the other hand, if it has not been done never assume it is impossible to do it.

I'm running Renthal mediums and an R6 Brembo m/c w/ the R6 reservoir. Rob's pic reminded me that I badly need to change my well aged brake fluid.

Funny. The vinyl tubing in these old shots is there to observe air being ejected from the master cylinder during bleeding (the reservoir is difficult to see through) and by introducing a small air bubble in the line flow can also be observed. Obviously it has been replaced by more suitable tubing and clamps.

I dont mess with bleeding and plasma...that they are being used in this thread in different contexts should throw the google bots for a fun loop. Future plasma donors, please not to make sure its dot4 coming outta ya! Chuckle chuckle...

I may not have a lot to say but it doesn't mean I don't listen.
