Wanted: Canadian Model 919 Black Mirrors!

Does anyone have a pair of the black Canadian stock model 919 mirrors that they would part with for a reasonable price? Please PM me and let me know, I need a pair for my wife's 599 ASAP! Thanks......

I don't think they were painted? I guess I just assumed they were different because they were Canadian issue.

My 2003 Canadian 919 had chrome mirrors and so does my 2005 Canadian 919. All of the 919's that I have seen in dealers had the chrome. They must have been aftermarket.

These are cheap aftermarket ones that are pretty similar. I think they have a longer stem version as well if you search further on this website.

Ok, now that the auction is over I will admit I found these on Ebay! Here is a picture and the text associated with it!

"This is a Pair of Stock Honda Mirrors, originally from a 2003 Honda CB 919, but will fit any 10mm right hand thread (used as standard for Honda and also Kawasaki and Suzuki). They are gently used and are unscratched. The mirrors are about 10cm (4 inches) diameter with a black platic housing and have a 15cm (6inches) long steel stem."

I wrote the seller asking him about them and he said:

"To my knowledge these are the stock mirrors, I asked my local dealer and he said these are the same as stock except black not chrome and that they probably came with the early release bikes. Anyway, either way they were not painted and are black steel stems with a black plastic mirror housing. the same shape as stock chrome mirrors. Hope this helps.. "

There you have it, I dont know but it sounds like they may have been replaced? Should look better than stock chrome, I just hope they are as stable as the stock ones or they will end up right back on ebay!!!!

Honda's "BIg Rukus" came with black mirrors just like ours. Much cheaper to do the rattle can.

I got some accessory black mirrors which were made for Kawasaki Z1-900 (remember them..!!!). They were all black, not quite as long as the original Hornet mirrors and really looked the part,, BUT,, the mirrors had a flat surface instead of curved, so they lasted about half an hour on my bike. Couldn't see a damed thing in them...

Maybe looking for Z1 mirrors (with curved surface) could help...

1. Vibrations become more apparent
2. You get a very narrow field of view

That's why I took mine off and opted for the standard ones again.
