Thumbs up Vintage Motorcycle Days @ mid-Ohio

Just a heads up. Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio Sportscar course is coming up. July 25th through 27th 2008.

Flat track races Friday night 25 miles away from the main venu. Saturday and Sunday vintage roadcourse, trials and motocross. All in one spot and nearly all vintage.

An estimated 100 acres (I think that is an exageration) of vintage bike parts and mostly NOT leather and chrome is onsite. New stuff is for sale but in another area.

Vintage bike clubs of all manufacturers are set up in the infield.

This has proven to be a worthy ride if you are so inclined.

Time to jump on the 919 and head off to work.

Sounds cool, we have a dealer here in town that is a vintage racer. "Dirty Dan" we call him. The guy doesn't own a bike that is less than 20 years old, so Everyone figured he was just Dirtass poor. Well he just likes the older bikes and having a shop he gets to tinker with them all day.

Oh, where in Indiana are you?

If anyone on the fence about this - go ! This is an awesome event and the 100 acres thing, is probally true - Last time I went was in like 1996 ( got to hear Team Obsoletes 250 6 cyclinder running and doing parade laps - simply incredible - you could hear it go into thunder valley from the key hole area ! ) and it was HUGE then - Picked up a suepr nice 1964 Honda S90 - If there are any bikes or parts you need, chances are youll find them there !
Unfortunatly ( or fortunatly ) , we are getting busier for some reason , so , Ill be missing this again -
Take tons of pics !

My dad loaded my 919 into my truck yesterday, hooked up my camper and headed down (from Plymouth, MI) today. I'll follow after work tomorrow on his Triumph Rockett III. The tailgate on my truck wouldn't shut with his Rockett in there, so I'll be riding it down for the weekend.

If you're there, keep an eye out for me. 02 asphalt and a red 05 Rockett. We'll be camping with some Metro Triumph Riders in a Coleman pop-up.
