Vent hose leak after short ride

hey guys,

i took the bike for 2 mile ride to the gym today, got out of the gym went over to the bike and noticed a tiny patch of what looked like an oil leak right underneath the three hoses.

the furthest hose in seems to be the culprit, i touched the hose and on my fingers was a dirty-oily consistency.

anyone know which hose the the third one in is (closest to the exhaust) ?

thanks for any help or light hearted ridicule

You rode the bike a little hard didn't you? Didn't you!!! Sorry I couldn't resist. Actually mine does the same thing when I park it after a spirited ride like first and second gear till 100000 rpm except mine is coolant and that is pretty normal until the coolant levels off to a just below the overflow line. It looks like the same hose now you might have gotten some road grime on your finger and that's why the coolant looks like dirty oil. As long as it doesn't keep dripping. I'm sure someone will chime in and either agree or set us both straight.

how dare you sir! you have insulted my integrity and status in the community! i demand satisfaction. pistols at noon

actually i purposefully rode it light that morning, slow acceleration, 4K easy shifts... i dont think i hit 6k during the short trip.

i think i did ride it hard the night before if that makes a difference.

Sure likely story!!!
Are you sure it's oil because if it's coolant it's not a big concern but mine has never leaked oil.

A few drips from the end of the hose after a ride is not uncommon. Marylandmike has the same thing happen on a regular basis. For him I bet his drippy hose is caused from old age.

The doctor says it's from the wife hanging off and dry rot

My kickstand always dribbles a bit after a hard ride, too.

It's normal.
