Two Brothers - 919 single can?

I was surprised to see Two Brothers selling a single can system for the 919 (right side). Why? Weight savings? What advantage is there to go to a single can?

Certainly weight savings, but I also read somewhere about the 4 into 1 system providing more power?

I use the Two Brothers "Stash" system...but the mount of the stash broke so I'm using just the can...it works and I kinda like the way it looks.

I would not buy another Two Brothers exhaust, fyi.

Obsession is a word the lazy use to define the dedicated.

No single reason... Did you see the stash system, using a fake pipe to hold your personal belongings.

That sucker must get very hot! Increasing exhaust pressure may increase torque while reducing HP.

Quite simply it is the exact same system they designed for the 900RR 15 years ago so they dusted it off & marketed it for the 919 with a slightly revised mount. It also gives a little bit better peak hp than stock, but also gives the mid-range a dip in power which to me is unacceptable for two reasons:

1. Nobody rides a streetbike around at 11,000rpm with the throttle pinned wide open all the time, but we all use the midrange performance of the bike constantly in daily driving.

2. The entire premise of the 919 is about mid-range performance & linear power delivery. The tiny throttle bodies & cam phasing were all engineered around that concept & it doesn't make any sense to alter the induction or exhaust side of things in a manner that detracts from the design scope.

I bet a single can would take away from the unique exhaust note of our beloved 919s.

i have the can on my 02. laid it down and the replacement was cheap, used. its not the greatest at all. no real discernable power change. does sound very "meaty", looks cool. outside of that, take it or leave it
