Twins! Help!

So some of you might be aware that I have two little ones one the way.

No, these would not be a CB1000R and a CBR600RR (I wish), they are actually little soft bits with ten fingers and ten toes (uh, each. we counted in the ultrasounds) that my wife is providing in the next week or two.

Problem is the names. Of course. We can't quite agree on what we should name them.

Our first daughter's name starts with "M". Since that is in the middle of the alphabet, my wife thinks she wants one of the twins' names to start with an "A" the other to start with a "Z" (Zoe is pretty much the only one that fits that category).

My issue with that is, I'd rather our kids have names that are names. I don't want them to have names just because the convention behind the naming is 'cute'.

I know, I know, y'all will say it's a lost cause, the women always choose the names, but she is actually working with me on this and now it's crunch time.

So I need some help from my fellow WT's.

Any ideas?

They are fraternal, not identical, so we're not into that whole similar name thing (Emma/Emmy, etc.)

So whatever you got, throw it out there. And don't be afraid to have a little fun, will probably be showing this to the wifey in a day or two.

Thanks all!

Didn't see anything about the twins' sex, but I'm assuming they are both girls by the reading.

We named our girl Alex.

Yeah, sorry, didn't mention that. Both girls! Makes 3 total now; I'm totally outnumbered.

Apple and Zucchini. That covers her alphabet part.

How about Matty and Anti-Matty. Don't like Star Trek?

Maybe Ocho and Cinco?

My sister (Allison) wanted her daughter to have a similar name but not from a list. So the young'n was named Alivia and goes by Ally.

I can't help with a Z - maybe name her Zeppelin and call her Zeppy...

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

And don't worry about staying with the "A" and "Z" theme here, that's kind of what I don't want to do. Hence this thread.

My wife's favorite picks so far are Adelyn and Zoe. I'm just not too partial, yet. lol

Not sure I want to name my kid after a name that seems to lead to a certain profession.

I went to school with twins named Zena (Zina) and Zara. I had a friend from Puerto Rico and her name was America, I always thought that was a cool name...oh yeah and her sisters name was Aura and Autumn.
I like Ariah and Zariah too.

You could tell your wife that 'M' is not technically the middle letter in the alphabet, there isn't an exact middle letter, unless they have mysteriously added a 27th letter.
Maybe you should have one of the twins names start with 'N' and then have the other start with whatever letter you want. Just a suggestion.

He said in the middle which can be a range as well as a point.

You could go for a farscape theme with Aeryn and Zahn.

Zara. Zola.

Honestly, though, I think the cutesy angle of the A-Z names will not seem so cute as the years wear on. The babies will be adults one day, remember? The one who gets stuck with the "Z" name (and let's face it, the Z suggestions aren't so great) might not be so happy about it one of these days. Better just to pick some good, solid names you both like and think the kid can live with.

OK. Now I'll officially butt out.

Ok, to explain even further, my daughters first name starts with an "M" and middle name starts with "N", so yes, she has the middle covered.

Wife already thought of this. Do you see know why I turned to WT?

AMEN BRUTHA!!! Now, can you package that knowledge and somehow discreetly deliver it to my wife's brain sans hormone enhancements?

I'd pimp out two solid days of my CB1000r (when I get her) to you if you could do that.

May not be discreet, but have her read this thread! (I'll make it fair and ONLY take the 1 day cause it wasn't discreet)

Here's your solution. Tell wifey she can pick whatever she pleases for first names and you get the middle names. Give the poor Z kid a good middle name and you call her by that name from the moment she's born. Tell all your relatives you've decided to call her by the middle name. Get everyone who hates the Z name to call her by her middle name. Sooner or later, even wifey will have to admit that the other name is better.

This is called "bending the rules to get your way." Once you've been married more than 20 years, you'll become good at it, too.

Yeah, my wife already started it. Right from the get-go, she started telling our 2 year old that "Adeyln and Zoe" were in her tummy. So that's all I've heard for 8 months.

So what you're saying is I need to learn to play the game better.

Where do I sign up for classes?
