Touch up paint?

I got a pin head size chip on my tank and it drives me crazy.

Does anyone know of a good touch up paint/polish? I know there are lots at the auto store but I never used any of them before.

Have you tried the dealer where you got your bike? They could at least cough up the paint code for that red.

$15.95 base + $15.95 top + tax + shipping

For just a pin head chip. Hmmm, thanks for the link Ken but I think I'll try something else first. That site is going to my favorites though.

Don't bother with their Clear Coat. It goes on thick, doesn't level well, is pricey, and there are better ones out there.

First I'd like to say this.. it costs what it costs. Second, I'm sure the tube of touch up paint will be needed again and this will fix those as I am sure there is plenty of paint in there. Third, this is one of the things I really liked about the Asphalt color. It ain't hard to match semi-flat black. Sure there are technically metal flakes in there.. but close enough! Plus you just don't notice scratches much on it at all. That said.. the '06 red sure is juicy.

Ok, I just got 2 chips today.......

So they say I need :

Base Coat = $15.95

Top Coat ( which seems to be the color part ) = $15.95

Clear Coat....= $9.95

I read above the Clear is not really needed. But how about the Base Coat? Is this just some sort of primer? These chips are quite small.....

Thoughts/Experiences?
